UPDATE:Denver Jake Fire 30 percent contained

WORLAND - The Denver Jake Fire was at 30 percent containment Wednesday morning according to Cindy Wertz, Wyoming Bureau of Land Management public affairs specialist.

Wertz said the fire is 16 miles southwest of Worland. It has burned 8,000 acres and is burning in difficult terrain of mostly sagebrush and grasses.

Wertz said there are 110 firefighters assigned, 12 engines, two dozers, three water tenders, four single engine air tankers and two helicopters.

Focus today is putting a fire line on the east side of the fire, Wertz said.

She said there have been no structures threatened, no evacuations and no injuries reported with this fire.

The fire started about 9:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Wertz said an official cause of the fire has not been determined.
