WORLAND – Washakie County Commissioners Fred Frandson and Terry Wolf hold their places on the November ballot, after both incumbents beat challenger Christapher Godfrey in Tuesday’s primary election.
Frandson received 1,992 total votes, Wolf 1,501 and Godfrey 473 in the final count.
A total of 2,210 Washakie County voters turned out to the polls, voting for a variety of state and local offices.
District 27 Representative Mike Greear ran unopposed, receiving 1,647 county votes in Washakie County and 163 votes in Big Horn County.
County Attorney John Worrall, also unopposed, received 1,642 votes.
Washakie County Sheriff Steven Rakness received 1,576 votes, while County Coroner Jeff Lapp received 1,791. Both ran unopposed.
County Clerk Mary Grace Strauch received 1,765 votes, while County Treasurer Doris Kern received 1,770.
County Assessor Kathy Treanor received 1,695, while Clerk of District Court Suzann Whitlock received 1,731.
WORLAND COUNCIL
Worland City Councilmember (Ward 1) Gary Gerber received 385 votes to retain his seat, and Worland City Councilmember (Ward 2) Christy Schneider received 382 to retain her seat on the council. Both were unopposed in the primary.
The four-year term for Ward 1 and two four-year terms for Ward 3 remain vacant. They may be filled with write-in nominations, although write-in votes were not available at press time.
Three write-in votes are needed for a candidate to be eligible to accept a write-in nomination.
