Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Bret Mikel Decker passed away on November 23, 2018 in Cody, Wyoming.
He was born May 20, 1965, in Worland to Bill and Caroline (Hayner) Decker. He was the second son of three children born to this family.
Bret moved with his mother, older brother, Grant and younger sister, Angie to Cody in 1971, where he spent most of his school years.
Bret met Shom Green in Worland in 1981, and back to Worland he ran. They married in 1982 and had two children, Holly Anne and Christopher Grant.
For a short time Bret worked for Decker Brothers Roustabout, before securing a job with Continental Resources as a lease operator.
Bret's whole world was taking care of his grandkids and his dogs. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and never missed a Sunday NASCAR race.
Bret had many, many loyal friends, but the best one of all was his stepdad (Dad) of 38 years, Dwight Trumbull. The two of them were literally inseparable, whether hunting asparagus, deer, or chopping wood for the winter.
Bret is survived by his mom and stepdad, Caroline (Dwight) Trumbull, father, Bill (Wendy) Decker, his wife, Shom and children Holly and Christopher, siblings Angie, Louella, Pat, Mike, Matt, Tara, Luke and Josh; and grandkids, Ethan, Leilani, Trenton, Levi and Sophie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Bryant Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
