George H. W. Bush visited Worland in 1988

WORLAND - As the country mourns the death of our 41st president George H.W. Bush, memories were jolted to a time when then Vice President Bush visited Worland and a couple other towns in the Big Horn Basin.

Fran Scranton stated that Vice President Bush visited Worland on a two-day campaign in Wyoming. His plane landed at the Worland airport where he went to the Worland Elks Lodge for a chili feed with Worland residents.

According to the Northern Wyoming Daily News January 27, 1988 edition, Vice President Bush also visited Greybull, Cody, Cheyenne and Casper during his visit to the Cowboy State.
