Hildegard McDonald

Hildegard McDonald, 81, of Worland passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Washakie Memorial Hospital.

Hilde was born in Rosenberg, Schlesien, Germany, the daughter of Gertrude and Roman Reiner. She is survived by her sister Brigette Six of Germering, Germany, daughter Debbie Medina of Westminster, CO, and sons David (Rusty) of Riverton, WY, Kenneth (Debbie) of West Point, NY, Brian of Sedalia, CO, Kevin (Robynn) of Ft. Collins, CO, and Keith (Melanie) of Worland, WY, seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Melitta Searberry and Ingrid Kholer, and her husband of 49 years, Harold McDonald.

Hildegard was a faithful member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Many remember her for her years of work at Pamida, but her passion was her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took great pride in each and every member of her family. Her time spent with them was a treasure to all. She wanted to be involved in their lives and cared deeply about what was important to them. Hilde's faith was one of the most important aspects of her life. She met every week with friends to pray for others. Her favorite time of day was the morning when she and her husband would read from their Bibles and pray. She loved to crochet, knit and bake for others. Many Worlandites have received her blankets, apple strudels, friendship and pound cakes. Her baby blankets have comforted babies across the nation. She had a group of faithful friends that walked every morning. They called themselves the Rainbow Brigade for their colorful walking clothes. When all the children were still living at home, Hilde loved to garden and can all the produce, priding herself on providing food for all the mouths to feed. Harold (Mac) and she enjoyed the outdoors. They spent weeks on end water skiing and camping at Rough River, KY, camping and fishing at Paint Rock Lakes, and her all-time favorite camping spot, Jack Creek.

A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm on December 26, 2018 at St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Memorial Services will be held on December 27, 2018 at 5:00 pm, to be followed by refreshments in the church basement. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
