Debra Lee Law

Debra Lee Law (Deb), 61, passed away at sunrise on December 23, 2018, at Tidewell Hospice, Port Charlotte, Florida. The cause of death was metastatic breast cancer.

Deb was born on April 20, 1957, in Scottsbluff, NE, to parents Clayton and Joyce Lana.

She was married on October 27, 1979 to Patrick Law.

Deb graduated from Gering High School in 1975. She attained an Associates of Arts from Nebraska Western College, a bachelor degree in teaching from the University of Wyoming, and a Master's degree in education from Lesley University.

Deb started her career path at Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in Gering, NE. She also worked for Kansas/Nebraska Gas Company in Guernsey, WY and later Platte County Schools in Guernsey. After graduating from UW, Deb became a teacher at Ralph Witter's Elementary School in Thermopolis, WY, a career that lasted 30 years before retirement. In Port Charlotte, FL, Deb taught elementary school at Glenallen Elementary until 2018.

Throughout her life Deb lived in Scottsbluff, NE, Guernsey, WY, Laramie, WY, Thermopolis, WY, and Port Charlotte, FL.

Deb's hobbies included sewing, gardening, reading, golfing, and fishing. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family!

Deb is survived by her husband, Patrick; children John (Katie) Law of Lander, WY; Marie (Scott) Stehlin and their children, Tristan, Kaidyn, and Zane of Riverton, WY; Mother Joyce Lana of Gering, NE; Brother Dusty Lana of Gering, NE; sister Becky Dulaney of Ogden, UT; and sister Jeanette Wilson of John Day, OR.

Services will be held at Mortimore Chapel in Thermopolis, WY, on January 12, 2018, at 2:00pm with a gathering of friends to follow at the Thermopolis VFW.
