Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
WORLAND – Worland High School’s speech and debate team will be holding their 36th annual Worlando Beach Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
The meet will include 17 schools, mostly from Western Wyoming. There will be 200-300 students competing at the tournament.
The meet will be at the high school Friday from 1 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Worland’s speech and debate team will not be competing. Instead, the students will be working to run the meet by assigning judges, picking up ballots, preparing and serving food, answering questions, running and posting results and assisting with any issues that may occur, according to Coach Rick Dorn.
Judges are still required for the meet. Anyone out of high school is qualified to be a judge. If interested, they can contact Dorn at (307) 431-8390. Judges will be watching speakers and writing feedback on their performances.
