Washakie Medical Center now offering home sleep evaluations

WORLAND – Banner Health Washakie Medical Center began offering home sleep evaluations at the beginning of April, Practice Manager for the Banner Medical Group Anna Venable told the hospital board Thursday afternoon,.

She said they have conducted eight studies so far with at least four more “happening soon.”

“We expanded our local specialty services to provide sleep medicine services to the region. Physician Assistant Joe Tritchler received extended training within the sleep specialty and he is working with board certified Banner Health sleep medicine physicians. What we can offer to the patient now is a comprehensive sleep evaluation as well as appropriate follow up, to monitor response to therapy and initiate any necessary changes,” Venable said.

Venable stated that a variety of people could benefit from a home sleep evaluation including people who snore, folks who feel like they didn’t sleep at all during the night and are tired during the day, people who suffer from sleep apnea and people who have difficulty sleeping.

Anyone interested in participating in a sleep evaluation can call the Washakie Medical Center Clinic at 347-2555 to request one or go through their primary care physician, Venable stated.
