A great-horned owl was released back to its neighborhood on Bonine Avenue in Worland Sunday after about a month with the Ironside Rescue, Inc. The owl was flying sluggish after it startled Kaeli Campbell when she stepped out her back door. She and her father called Wyoming Game and Fish and Matt Lentsch had his wife transport the owl to Ironside. Susan Ahalt of Ironside, pictured above getting "Newly" ready to fly Sunday, said he was starving and was the third raptor around the Big Horn Basin she had to nurse back from malnutrition this year. Ironside is a non-profit organization dedicated to bird rehabilitation, conservation and education.
