Mary Elizabeth "Beth" (Waln) Geis, 89, of Worland, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Washakie Medical Center.
She was born July 6, 1930 at the family ranch on Spring Creek near Ten Sleep, Wyoming to Arnold and Mary (Jones) Waln. She graduated from Ten Sleep High School and went on to attend Northwest College in Powell. She received a teaching degree and later taught at Red Bank Country School on the Upper Nowood.
On October 27, 1952, she married Neil C. Geis in Worland, where they settled down to raise their family. In the spring of 1978, they moved to their farm on Lane 17, south of Worland where they raised livestock and farmed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Mary (Jones) Waln; husband, Neil C. Geis; and sister LaVonne (Waln) Pennoyer.
Survivors include her daughters, Clytie (Robert) Loudan, Ava (Butch) Aultman, and Jeanette (Richard) Buelt; grandchildren Lance Kalivas, Brandi (Kranz) Ramirez, Cory (Jenny) Buelt and Jennifer
(Justin) Leinonen. Great Grandchildren include Alecsia
and Lucas Ramirez, Tyler and Gage Leinonen, Jack, Alexandria and Hallie Buelt. Nephew Arnold (Donna) Pennoyer; and great-niece Jesse Pennoyer. She is also survived by the Geis and Harvard families.
Honorary casket bearers include nephews Homer Jr., Nick, Walt, Bill, and Ernie Geis; Harry and Brendan O'Connor; and Arnold Pennoyer.
Graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Ten Sleep Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held 6 p.m. Friday, September 20 at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel.
