Valerie Ann Gossens Shoopman

Valerie Ann Gossens Shoopman, 59, of Ten Sleep, passed away September 11, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 18, 1960 to Darrel Raymond and Marilyn Leola (Moore) Gossens. She attended Ten Sleep Schools, graduating in 1978. She married Martin "Marty" Shoopman on August 8, 1980.

Valerie treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She enjoyed following all their activities and was one of their biggest supporters. She was always up for a trip to the mountain, whether it was a day trip or a weekend of camping. She could always find a muddy spot or water to play in when 4-wheeling. Her love for water carried over into her collection of snowmen. Playing cards was a favorite past time, especially with her friends at Christmas Club. Valerie enjoyed watching football, she was an avid Denver Broncos fan. She will be greatly missed by friends and family. A special thanks to those who gave support to her and her family during her courageous battle.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Raymond & June Gossens and Robert & Leola Moore; parents, Darrel Gossens and Marilyn Gossens.

She is survived by her loving husband, Marty Shoopman, children: Shane (Sarah) Shoopman of Ten Sleep, Amanda Johnson (Jeff Rye) of Gillette, Martin "Stormy" (Lauri) Shoopman of Riverton, Niki Daniels of Lusk; grandchildren: Ashton, Brian, Nevaeh, Elektra, Aubrey, Connor, O'Ryan, Skyler, and Steven. Survivors also include her stepmom, Linda Gossens of Ten Sleep, in-laws Jack & Charlene Chatwell, siblings: Ty (Carol) Gossens of Greybull, Darlee Deninger of Wellington, CO, Ryan (Sheila) Gossens of Lovell, Kristen (Jeremy) Marcus of Big Horn, Kraig (Kady) Gossens of Ten Sleep; special family friends: Jodi Lovell, Eta Wilson, Don (Val) Shoopman, Kathy (Blaine) Shoopman, Jim (Letha) Hendrickson and many nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved and touched deeply.
