Worland homecoming kicks off Saturday with burning of the 'W'

WORLAND — Worland High School’s homecoming week kicks off Saturday night with the burning of the W.

The event begins at 8 p.m. behind Warrior Stadium.

Classes will decorate their respective hallways on Sunday and dress-up days begin on Monday with meme/character day, followed by tourist day on Tuesday. Classes selected their own colors for class color day on Wednesday — seniors blue, juniors yellow, sophomores red and freshmen grey. Thursday is throwback day and Friday is the traditional Warrior day to show school spirit in orange and black.

Voting for homecoming royalty will be on Tuesday. Royalty will be announced at Friday morning’s assembly, which begins immediately following the all-school photo that is at 10:30 a.m. The assembly will be in the WHS gym.

Friday’s homecoming parade begins at 1:30 p.m. from the former Shopko building (soon to be Kennedy Ace Hardware) down Big Horn Avenue to Railway.

The Friday night football game will be at 7 p.m. with the Warriors taking on the Rawlins Outlaws.

The dance will be Saturday night from 8 to 11 p.m.
