Floyd Leroy "Roy" Decker, 84, of Worland, Wyoming, rode off into the sunset on the morning of November 23, 2019.
Roy was born on July 14, 1935, in Lovell, Wyoming, to Floyd Elmer and Myrtle (Brinkerhoff) Decker. His legacy is his work in construction over his entire lifetime, building homes and businesses all over the Big Horn Basin.
In 1951, Roy married Elaine Martenson. They had four sons, Dan, Mark, Lee, and Mike. In 1966, Roy started Roy Decker Construction, later becoming Roy Decker & Sons Construction. In 2002, he married Margaret Sue Hayes. To this union he gained another son, Ty, and a daughter, Stacy.
Roy had a passion for horses, roping, and rodeo. If there was ever a question of where to find him, you could find him on a horse. Roy competed in and won numerous rodeos and roping competitions with his favorite rides- Sorrely, Yogi, Dunny and Paint.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lucille, Dorthea, Dixie, and Patti; brothers, Don and Rickey. He is survived by his wife, Sue, brothers Dennis, Bill, and Mikel, sister Trudy, his sons Dan (Anita) Mark (Linda), Lee (Shauna), and Mike (Cody), his stepson Ty (Nicole), his stepdaughter Stacy (Jesus) numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his loyal and faithful companion Timmy.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Friday, November 29 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in Worland. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
