Ten Sleep Town Council awards bid, prepares for May election

TEN SLEEP – The Ten Sleep Town Council met on the night of Tuesday, April 7 via Zoom web conferencing to hold their regular meeting one month from their May election.

A main agenda item was concern over different approaches regarding a small triangular piece of land regarding Pam Taylor and an encroachment into that piece of land. There were multiple solutions presented from re-zoning to simply removing the encroachment, but further information and consultation was desired and no decision was made at the meeting.

The council did award a contract to Nowood Construction to perform the grading and paving of both Cottonwood and First streets for $174,550 as well as approval of the mayor to sign the revised contract.

Jan Michael, Dawling Grobey, Judy Larson, Nancy Decker, Sarah Anderson and alternate Dianna Walters were approved as election judges for the May 5 election.

The first meeting in May was pushed back one day to Wednesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. in order for the election to take place the prior day. The meeting will include a work session starting at 5 p.m. A special meeting for bills to be approved was set for April 21 at 7 p.m.

A restaurant liquor license was approved for the Big Horn Stage Company.

A building permit was approved for a 20-foot by 30-foot addition to the Ten Sleep Baptist Church to increase the size of their assembly hall to the south of the building.
