Three county COVID-19 patients listed as recovered

WORLAND — The Wyoming Department of Health is listing three of Washakie County’s five COVID-19 cases as recovered.

The WDH is also listing two recoveries from the three probable cases as well.

These figures are as of Tuesday, April 21.

The Washakie County Public Health and the COVID Incident Command Team said of the five lab-confirmed cases, two are female and three are male, ranging in age from the 30s to the 80s.

The county Incident Command Team reported in the situation report on Tuesday that they have completed 64 tests with 50 negative results, five positive cases (one tested in Hot Springs County) and nine tests pending.

In a Question and Answer session last week, Public Health Office Dr. Ed Zimmerman said results from tests sent to the Wyoming Public Health Lab take about 24 hours. Tests sent to the private labs take three to five days for results.

The Incident Command Team will have a live Q & A at 10 a.m., Tuesday April 28, on YouTube. Visit the Washakie County COVID-19 Facebook page for the link. The session will be recorded for residents to view at a later time.

With the governor’s health orders in place through April 30, the team is encouraging the community to social distance and continue following the governor’s orders.

They also reminded residents that the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies mobile pantry will be delivering food at the fairgrounds this Saturday from 1-3 p.m.

GOVERNOR

Governor Mark Gordon, in a statement Friday, said because Wyoming residents have adhered to the public health orders and followed recommendations to stay at home as much as possible, the number of coronavirus cases has been much lower than originally predicted.

“Our transition into a new phase must be health data-driven, not date driven,” he said. “If the people of Wyoming continue to do the right thing and we see the improvements we need to see, we will continue our transition to a stabilized economy. We need our economy back, but we must avoid a resurgence of this virus.”
