Family experience provides opportunity for locals to race
WORLAND – The Monster Truck Insanity Tour by Live A Little Productions returns to the Washakie County Fair this Saturday for a two-hour event.
Live A Little Productions CEO Skyler Neibaur said the last time they brought the Monster Truck show to the fair was in 2016. Live A Little Productions also brought the tractor pulls to the fair in previous years.
“We have a great relationship with the fair board. We did the tractor pulls for year. We’re the go to people for motor sports. We absolutely love to do it,” Neibaur said.
He added that the Washakie County Fair is one of the few contracted fair shows left on their schedule.
“We love to come to Worland. We have friends there. It’s a great place to do a monster truck show,” Neibaur said.
INSANITY TOUR
This year’s Insanity Tour coming to Worland will be a “completely different Monster Truck experience” from what people are used to Neibaur said, adding that it is a designed as a family event.
Rides in a Monster Truck will be available, for a fee, one hour prior to the show, during the 15-minute intermission and after the show for as long as there are people in line.
Due to COVID-19, Neibaur said the seats and seatbelts will be sanitized after every ride. A truck can fit up to 10 people. Those wanting to maintain more space will be provided time at the end of the show, he said.
Neibaur said they “go above and beyond” regular COVID-19 protocol in order to keep staff and competitors safe, which includes checking the temperature of all competitors during a preshow check.
The show included three of the big race Monster Trucks. They will compete in wheelie competition — the most vertical or best off the jump contest, then there will be heads up racing and then the freestyle competition, “which everyone comes to see,” Neibaur said. “It’s a complete free for all, they hit the jumps, do donuts, wheelies; it’s the most fun and most impressive part.”
TOUGH TRUCK & UTV RACES
In between the Monster Truck competitions will be the Tough Truck & UTV Races with local entries welcome.
There is an entry fee and registration is from 5 to 6 p.m. There will be cash payouts to winners. Cars, sport utility vehicles, trucks, vans, all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles and utility terrain vehicles are allowed. Seatbelts and helmets are required. Competitors must have a valid driver’s license and pass a safety inspection.
“We encourage the locals to come out; to bring their SUV, mini vans, side-by-side; and race them as part of the show,” Neibaur said.
For people attending the show for the first time he said ear protection is recommended and it will be available for purchase, along with souvenir merchandise.
Tickets are $15 for adults (ages 8 and up), $12 for kids (3-7) with kids 2 and under admitted free.
Live A Little Productions out of Rigby, Idaho, provides a whole show designed to be high energy and put a smile on kids faces, Neibaur said.
