Additional filings made for special districts; Monday final day to file

WORLAND – Four community members have filed for both Washakie County School District (WCSD) No. 2 Board of Trustees and Washakie County School District (WCSD) No. 1 Board of Trustees, three have filed for the Worland Fire Protection District No. 1 board, two have filed for Ten Sleep Cemetery District, two have filed for Washakie County Conservation District and one has filed for Ten Sleep Fire board as of Monday, Aug. 17.

The four members who have filed for the three open positions in District No. 2 are current board president Jared Lyman, C.J. Grimes, Erin Blutt and Brandon Weddle. The other two positions that are up for re-election this year are currently held by Terril Mills and Chuck Powell.

In District No. 1 David Tommerup has filed for re-election, Tami Young, Jonathan Hake and Brett Argeris have all filed for the positions currently held by Dean Dupree and Susan Scheuerman.

In special districts, Tim Surat, Tad DeBolt and Edward Gross have filed for the Worland Fire Protection District No. 1 Board, with three total positions up this year. Randall Firnekas and Janice Michael have filed for Ten Sleep Cemetery District which has two positions up, Myles Bush has filed for Ten Sleep Fire Board which has two positions up.

Both Susan Pennington and David Slover have filed for re-election to the Washakie County Conservation District Board. There are just two seats open on that board.

Those wishing to file will need to file at the Washakie County clerk’s office before 5 p.m. on Aug. 24. There is no filing fee for the above positions.
