Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
WORLAND – Jennifer Jones has begun her first special education teaching position at Worland Middle School after moving to Worland from Cowley to accept the position.
Jones teaches reading, social and life skills to special education students at the middle school.
However, before moving to Worland Jones was a school-to-work grant coordinator for Big Horn County School Districts No. 1 and No. 2, transition specialist as well as a paraeducator prior to receiving her master's degree in special education from Western Governor's University on top of her bachelor's degree in elementary education.
Currently Jones is commuting from Cowley where she resides with her husband.
Outside of the classroom Jones enjoys the outdoors where she goes hiking and camping, but also enjoys other hobbies such as reading, crafts and shopping.
Jones has enjoyed the people that she has worked with so far as they have been friendly and helped her transition into her new position in the community and the school. She said that students have been adjusting to getting back into school and the different routines in place due to COVID-19 regulations but they have all been happy and excited to be back.
