Homecoming week kicks off today in Ten Sleep

TEN SLEEP – Ten Sleep School’s homecoming week is set to kick off today Thursday, Oct. 15, and according to High School Student Council sponsor Paula Beck-Acord, this year is set to look a little different due to the COVID-19 pandemic but will include most traditions from years past.

The week will kick off today with pajama dress-up day for students along with hall decorating. There is no school this Friday so the fun resumes on Monday when the dress-up day will be a western/camo day and a dodgeball competition will be held.

On Tuesday, clash of the classes will be the dress-up day with a dance off being the competition for the day. Wednesday currently has no planned activity but will be hosted as a throwback dress-up day.

Thursday will have a whole host of activities while hosting a spirit day dress-up day. Thursday’s activities include an all-school picture at 8:30 a.m., pep rally following the picture, parade at 10:30 a.m. and a tailgate lunch at 11:30 a.m. Students will have a half-day of school due to parent-teacher conferences.

There will also be a bonfire at the gravel pit for the high schoolers at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

There is no school on Friday, Oct. 23, but homecoming activities will feature a drive-in movie for the high schoolers at the Ten Sleep Rodeo Grounds at 7 p.m.

Sporting events will include volleyball on Friday at 4:30 p.m. against Kaycee, Saturday at 10 a.m. against Dubois and 4 p.m. against Arvada. Football is scheduled to take place on Saturday at noon and 2 p.m. against Dubois.
