Warren Ujifusa, 99-year-old Worland resident passed away on November 29, 2020. He was born on March 9, 1921 in Greybull, Wyoming. He was the second of seven children born to Manpei “Mike” and Toyono (Inui) Ujifusa. The family moved to Worland just before he turned two. Warren graduated from Washakie County High School in 1939. He married Toshie Shibata on March 21, 1948.
Warren was a quiet man who sat back and took in his surroundings. He worked at farming but lived for fishing. If something needed fixed on the farm, he just got it done. He enjoyed golf and playing cards when he couldn’t go fishing. He even took over the family garden after Toshie passed away. He would grow it for the family to enjoy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Toshie; daughter, Joy; brother, Howell and sister, Mary Momii. Survivors include his 3 children, Carol (Gary) Throntveit of Worland, WY, Dan Ujifusa of Lawrenceville, NJ, Mike Ujifusa (Holly Martin) of Salt Lake City, UT; step-grandson, Carl; brothers, George Ujifusa of Worland and Frank Ujifusa of Salt Lake City; sisters, Lil Nakamura of Salt Lake City, and Clara Ujifusa of San Jose, CA.
