Culturefest celebration this Saturday at community center

WORLAND – Culturefest will be held in the back field of the Worland Community Center Complex June 19 from 9am-5pm. After a year off due to COVID, organizer Sheryl Ley, WCCC marketing director, anticipates that the community will be ready for entertainment.

“People are excited this year because they’ve been cooped up since last summer, they are ready to get out and do things,” Ley said.

The event will kick off with a 9am Welcome and National Anthem performed by Kurt and Alana Steinke. All day events such as the Dunk Booth provided by Search and Rescue, 4-H Petting Zoo, Worland Fire Truck display, Midway Auto Sales Camper Showing, and Tractor Guys Tractors will be supplemented by the entertainment schedule.

There will be seating available for people to enjoy the entertainment and food from a variety of vendors.

Ley noted that many community favorites, such as Rattlesnake Ridge, a country, rock, and blues band from Worland, are returning. The Praise band is tied to this local group.

Look Sharp barber Cain Torrez will be starring as Elvis while Kurt and Alana Steinke of Ten Sleep will offer their own musical talents.

Beautiful Feet Dance out of Casper will offer two performances. According to their website beautifeetdance.com, their goal is “to honor Jesus Christ our Lord while learning the athletic and graceful dance arts with excellence, making friends...and having fun!”

On the menu are California steak burritos, pork tacos, street tacos, jalapeño poppers, corn dogs, kettle corn, caramel corn and funnel cakes. Arctic Blast Shaved Ice, Davis’ Snowcones and Sandy Candy. Worland High School will be hosting its Indian taco fundraiser. Goose’s Sports Bar will be serving margaritas, with wrist banding on site for those who are of age.

“I think Culturefest brings value to the community because it is local for people who can’t or don’t travel to come and experience entertainment for free. Anybody can come. You don’t have to pay anything to watch or be here. You can’t beat that,” said Ley.
