Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Ten Sleep resident, Kim Elizabeth Beamer, 65, passed away suddenly of heart failure on June 17, 2021 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 24, 1955 to parents Richard Judson Scutt and Arlene Louise Smith in Wellsboro, PA. The family had four other children and lived for many years in New York.
Kim met the love of her life, Galen Beamer, while attending high school in Wellsville, New York. They were married on March 12, 1977. The couple had three children, and later moved to Ten Sleep, Wyoming.
Kim had many jobs throughout the years, and also was blessed with many talents. She loved to knit, paint, crochet, spin wool, and weave. Kim enjoyed driving around with Galen enjoying the Wyoming scenery in their jeep. She was very involved with her family, and always loved to go to activities and events. A member of the United Methodist Women, Kim enjoyed weekly meetings and get togethers with her friends. Kim was a very strong person. Even after her debilitating stroke, Kim persevered and continued to do her hobbies, create items for auctions, and attend church. Though the last twenty years were difficult, Kim was always a fighter. She continued to smile and had a positive attitude until her last days.
Kim is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Galen, her daughter Molly (Donnan) Coyne, of Thermopolis, granddaughter Emmalyne, and grandsons Oran and Adley; son Philip (Lisa) Beamer, of Worland, granddaughters Grace, Isabella, and Sophia; and son Vince (Jennifer) Beamer of Laramie.
