Margie J. Johnson, age 87 passed away June 12, 2021. Margie was born to P.V. and Dorothy Whitney on July 23, 1933. She was born on Newby Island, Hysham, MT. She spent her early years in the family home. Her grade school years were spent in Vananda MT. She moved to Billings for high school, and graduated from Billings Senior High in 1951 excelling in Art.
She married Virgil Vaiser and they had one son Ladd Virgil. They spent time in Spokane and Billings.
She married Clay Lewis and gained three sons. While in Missoula, she attended MSU and came out with a musical education which allowed her to do things she really liked. She joined and played with Wiser Fiddlers Association and won many honors for her efforts. She also belonged to the Wyoming Fiddlers Association with her husband Ray C. Johnson. She also became one of their officers. Her husband played with her and they traveled around and enjoyed a lot of music.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Mike) Beloh; sons, Russell Johnson, Jay Lewis, and Sister Betty (Byron) Newman, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy C. Johnson, parents P.V and Dorothy Whitney, brothers; Donald, David, Roy, and sister Pauline.
