Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
The angels came at 10:25 p.m. August 2, 2021 to claim her for their own.
Long time Worland resident Kay Baker passed away at Washakie Medical Center at the age of 76.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Layton Baker, Jr; brother, Harry Culp and sister, Ramona Cook.
She is survived by her sister, Joy Woods of Worland; brother, Barney Culp of Alliance, Nebraska; daughter, Betty Linnens (Gerald) Moore of Powell; grandson, David (Rabecca) Linnens of Powell and granddaughter, Jessica (Norman) Wardell of Worland. The pride of her life was her 10 great-grandchildren: Braxton, Layton, Austin, Titus, Ashlyn, Porter, Rowdy, Brynleigh, Sterling and Lucy.
Kay retired from Washakie Co School district in 2017 at the age of 72 where she worked as a cook at the middle school. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles prior to her husband's death. Her later years were spent traveling with her best friend and sister Joy. They could often be found sitting together at the Wind River Casino playing penny slots. Family trips were a favorite. She was very fond of the beaches of Oregon and "casino hopping".
No services are planned per her wishes, she was a private person and did not want all the "fuss". Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
