Maria Guadalupe Martinez

Maria Guadalupe (Guerrero) Martinez, 51, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Washakie Medical Center surrounded by her family. Maria was born on November 1, 1969, in Silao, Guanajuato Mexico to Nolverta Venegas Martinez and Nicolas Guerrero Rivera. She was the first born of their four children. Maria moved to Nuevo Laredo with her mother and aunt. She helped her aunt raise her cousins. Maria then met Miguel Angel Martinez in Nuevo Laredo. They fell in love and got married on April 30, 1985. That love blessed them with five children. They moved to Worland, Wyoming in 1992 and settled here.

Maria enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends. She was a great friend and was willing to help anyone she cared about. Maria was famous for her frijoles borachos. Everyone loved them. She loved having carne asadas with family and friends and going camping. Maria was such a great friend to anyone who knew her. Maria's favorite color was fuchsia; she loved roses, plants, and her favorite season was fall. She enjoyed watering the grass and taking care of her plants. One of Maria's greatest blessings was her six granddaughters. Her favorite special occasion was her anniversary. One of her favorite songs was "Lagrimas Del Corazon" by Grupo Montez De Durango. That song would remind her of her husband and son Miguel because her husband would go to work and her son would always ask for him and say "Mami cuando va venir mi papa?" Maria will be greatly missed by her family and friends and anyone who knew her.

Maria is survived by her mother, Nolverta Venegas Martinez; step-father, Marcos Avlarado Mirramon; husband, Miguel Angel Martinez; mother-in-law, Concepcion Alcaraz; brothers, Rodrigo Guerrero, Juan Manuel Guerrero and Martin Alvarado; sister, Maria Rocio Guerrero; cousins, Maria Raquel (Berna Silverio) Alvarado, and Bertha (Rene Garcia) Alvarado; brother-in-laws, Jesus (Ana) Martinez, Victor (Angie) Martinez, Joseph (Rosa) Martinez, and Edward Martinez; sister-in-law, Veronica (Francisco) Ramirez; children: Jorge (Rebecca) Martinez, Brenda (Raul) Jimenez, Miguel Martinez Jr., Alexandra Martinez, and Nicolas Martinez; grandchildren: Isabel Jimenez, Jimena Jimenez, Jackelyn Jimenez, Ivette Jimenez, Alicia Martinez, Emma Martinez and all of her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Nicolás Guerrero Rivera, her sister-in-law, Gracie Aguiñaga and her brother-in-law, Furtunato Alvarado.

A rosary will be held 6:00 pm, Thursday, October 7, 2021. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am, Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with Father Robert Rodgers presiding.
