Karen Sue Ernest, age 60, passed away October 11, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona, due to a short and intense battle with cancer. She was born April 12, 1961 in Worland, Wyoming to Carolyn (Billie) Johnson. She married her husband of 43 years, Danny Lee Ernest June 16, 1978. Karen lived outside of Worland for only a short time before returning and raising her own children in the familiarity and comfort of her childhood home.
Karen treasured being a wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Danny and their children; daughter Jacquelyn Ernest and her two sons Kyle and Logan; son Daniel Ernest (Breann Westmore) and their two sons, Grayson and Preston; daughter Kathryn Marchione (Alan) and their 4 children, Taylor, Parker, Alivia and Holden and step daughter, Sarah Palmer (Spencer) and their 3 children, Aaliyah, Jade and Orion. She is also survived by her brothers Ronald Johnson (Joannie); Jack Johnson; Kenneth Johnson (Doris); Doug Johnson (Debbie); sisters Linda Groshart (Don); and Donna Hasselmo (Peter) and many nieces and nephews.
Karen's immediate family will be holding a Celebration of Life ceremony in Phoenix on November 6th. A separate service will be held in Worland at a date yet to be determined.
Karen was an exceptional craftswoman who was masterful in quilting, crocheting, needlework, woodworking, decorative painting and stained glass. Her family and friends are fortunate to preserve her memory with the many lovely pieces given to them and proudly displayed in their homes.
She had immeasurable love and empathy for animals and fostered and cared for homeless cats and kittens for the last 20 years.
