WORLAND — Three Veterans Day events are planned in Worland next week starting with the West Side fourth-graders musical Veterans Day program on Tuesday night.
The evening begins at 7 p.m. at Worland Middle School on Nov. 9. The program, “We Sing of America” is under the direction of Willie Wright. There will be six songs performed dedicated to veterans and first responders.
On Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, the American Legion Post 44 will have its annual free breakfast for veterans and their families from 7 to 10:30 a.m.at the Legion on Seventh Street.
They will also have their annual flag disposal ceremony at 1 p.m. behind the Legion, according to Legion Commander Ryan Decker.
The Worland Senior Center will honor veterans with a program during lunch on Veterans Day.
A group of the fourth graders who performed Tuesday night will perform at 11:15 a.m. There will be a flag ceremony and the guest speaker will be Sandy Tibbs of the VFW Auxiliary.
They will also honor those from each branch of the armed forces.
Ten Sleep will have a virtual program with videos featuring veterans stories posted to the school’s website and Facebook page.
At Riverside Middle/High School, there will have their annual Veterans Day program performed by middle school students at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11.
