Josephine Dorothy Garretson

It is with deep sorrow we mourn the passing of our beloved Josephine Dorothy Garretson. Josephine passed on November 25, 2021 at the age of 93 at the Billings Clinic in Montana.

Josephine was born in Sheridan, Wyoming July 23, 1928, the only daughter born to Dominck and Jennie (Gricoli) Montagne. She grew up watching baseball with her brothers and fell in love with the sport. She never missed a New York Yankee game. At a young age, she met her husband, Lee Garretson, in Clearmont, Wyoming. The couple lived in Sheridan for a time, but Josephine commuted to Buffalo everyday where she owned a beauty shop. They later moved to Worland where she remained the rest of her life. Staying true to her Italian roots, she was known for her famous spaghetti and meatballs. She loved bowling, playing the piano and enjoyed watching a good horror film. She enjoyed dancing and always found a willing partner to take the dance floor with her. Josephine was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Bruce "Gary" Garretson of Worland; grandchildren: Cammy (Alex) Vuksanovic of San Diego, California; Tina (Steve) Bahmer of Tallahassee, Florida; and Justin Garretson of Whitefish, Montana; great-grandchildren: Allison, Madeline, Olivia, Ben, Jack and Luke Bahmer of Tallahassee; nephew, Dell Garretson of Casper, Wyoming; nieces, Saundra Lenneman of Worland and Janis Bozeman of Lincoln, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lee Garretson; brothers, Pat, Bruno and Tony Montagne and daughter-in-law, Karen Garretson.
