Worland Speech & Debate places first in 3A

WORLAND – The Worland High School speech and debate team took first place overall in 3A at the Riverton tournament Feb. 19.

Helping lead the team to the first-place victory was Kinley Anderson who was the tournament champion in drama and Elizabeth Bleicher, tournament champion in Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Other placers at the Riverton meet were:

Gabe Gould received second place in congress, followed by Zach Fernandez in third. Anderson and Bleicher both advanced to super congress.

Chase Johnson and Lex Damiano took second place in cross-examination debate, Nora Reid and Tate Green and Lucy Martinson and Tessa Barnhill tied for third.

Kadyn Riley took third in Lincoln-Douglas debate and place.

Collin Ketterling took fifth place in humor and Carlee Lowry and Luca Wilson went to semi-finals.

Ketterling and Kendra Naasz took fifth place in duo.

Bleicher took third place in oratory.

Aurora Guthrie went to semifinals in poetry.

Kaydence Mosley and Tori Colwell went to semifinals in program oral interpretation.

Their next meet is with Greybull and Evanston virtually on Feb. 25-26.
