Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Myra Evelyn Schneider, 83, passed away at Billings Clinic Hospital on April 17, 2022.
Myra was born on May 10, 1938 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the oldest of three girls born to Daniel and Rachel Catherine (York) Gall. She spent her early years in Scottsbluff. The family moved to Worland when she was quite young. The family did return for about 10 years and then came back to Worland to stay.
Myra graduated from Worland High School in 1956. Shortly after graduation she married Benjamin “Benny” Schneider. The couple made their home in Worland and were the parents of four sons and one daughter, Gary, Rod, Randy, Danny and Jeri.
She went to work for the Police Department as a dispatcher for a while.
Myra enjoyed working beside her husband. She was not afraid of hard work and that helped her so much when Benny passed away in 1975. Myra was left to care for their children. She opened up a pet store on Big Horn Avenue to incorporate what she loved and help provide for her children. Later she signed on to deliver newspapers for the Billings Gazette and Northern Wyoming Daily News. Everyone knew Myra’s car as she drove around Worland and the surrounding areas, bringing the news of the day into their homes. After retiring, she moved into the Wyoming Retirement Home in 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her children; Gary of Portland, Oregon, Rod of Salt Lake City, Utah, Randy of Cody, Wyoming, Jeri Morgan of Shelley, Idaho and Danny of Sheridan, Wyoming; two sisters, Margie (Wayne) Keller of Worland and Danene (Doug) Miller of Gillette, Wyoming, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Reverend Clennon Reddin officiating. Memorial donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses and sent to Bryant Funeral Home, PO Box 524, Worland, WY 82401.
