Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
WORLAND — With the Washakie County Fair just over two months away the Washakie County Fair Board is busy working to finalize a schedule and finalize contracts for entertainment.
During Monday’s regular board meeting, Chairman Jeff Lapp reported that Washakie County Attorney John Worrall is working with Daniel Kosel to finalize the music entertainment contract. The board is contracting with Kosel to arrange the musical entertainment for the Washakie County Fair with free concerts on Thursday and Friday and a paid concert in the stage area featuring Confederate Railroad on Saturday, July 30.
He also reported that he spoke with Cassidy Griemsman earlier in the day and said that the board needed to have a contract for the youth and fair rodeo by the end of the week in order to get it reviewed by Worrall before the board can approve it.
Dani Rice reported that they have light plants from Rattlesnake Field Services and the City of Worland for the Confederate Railroad concert. The city also offered its orange fencing if needed.
She said she also spoke to the company for pig wrestling and they are in need of pigs for this year. They will send a contract soon and pricing may change from last year. Last year with so many pig wrestling teams the cost was $8,200. The more pigs that are used the higher the cost.
The board discussed limiting the number of teams if there is a shortage of pigs as well as to keep costs low.
