Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
WORLAND – This Saturday will be the second annual March for Jesus, starting at Seventh Street and proceeding east on Big Horn Avenue.
The march will begin at 10 a.m. but marchers are asked to gather at 9:30 a.m. The march will proceed down the eastbound lanes of Big Horn Avenue. Participants will hand out bookmarks and balloons from Seventh to 11th streets where they will then head south to Sanders Park for an ice cream social.
Big Praise, a local Christian worship group, will be sharing live music at the park after the march. There will also be non-denominational resources and “goodie bags” for both adults and children who may be interested in learning more about Jesus Christ. Marchers are requested to bring their own chairs to the park.
The march was first organized last year by Worland resident Rose Carrasco after being healed of lung cancer in 2019. Her goal is to draw believers across the Big Horn Basin together with others who may want to know more about Christ.
Bethany Fellowship Pastor Jo Bowman said last year’s march was attended by people from four churches.
“At least 50 people were there,” Bowman said.
She added that this year, in order to try to get more families to attend, instead of doing a barbecue at the end, they decided to do an ice cream social instead. She said they would love to see 100 people attend, children included.
Bowman mentioned that even though Bethany Fellowship is overseeing the march, March for Jesus is for all churches who worship and is for anyone who believes in or wants to know more about Jesus Christ.
