21st annual Culturefest this Saturday

WORLAND – This Saturday the Worland Community Center Complex (WCCC) will be hosting the 21st Culturefest in the back field of their building. The festivities will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Worland Community Center Complex Marketing Director Sheryl Ley said she is expecting about 40 vendors at the festival this year.

“It’s one of those things where people wait to see what the weather is going to be,” Ley added.

One of the things that will be different this year, according to Ley, is that a company out of Riverton will be bringing large blow-up bounce houses for the kids in attendance. However, there will be a waiver that needs to be signed by a parent before the child is allowed in the tent.

According to Ley, there will be a variety of food vendors including Pizza Hut, Aspire Coffee Roasters from Greybull, Cowgirl Cookies and Southern Spice.

There will be ongoing live performances throughout the day, including performances from Kurt and Alanna Steinke, and later in the afternoon, a karate demonstration from Kurt’s Karate. There will also be entertainment from Tractor Guys and Midway Auto Sales.

Ley said that the WCCC has been doing Culturefest for eight years. Prior to that, the event was planned and put on by a committee. However, that committee disbanded and asked the community center to take it on. The festival had been a traditional event in the city for many years, so the WCCC agreed.

The festival started taking place in 2001 at, with a year off in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
