WORLAND - Just over a year after the official groundbreaking for the new Sunlight Federal Credit Union building in Worland, the doors were opened and the public was welcomed at an open house on June 22.
The former Sunlight FCU at 1419 Big Horn Ave. was on a 14,517 square foot lot with the facility 2,484 square feet. The new facility at 1800 Big Horn Avenue is 4,784 square feet on a 30,000-square foot lot.
The new bank opened on May 10.
Office manager Maritza Deniz said there are many new features at the new bank, including an upgraded sitting area with a coffee/water bar and fireplace. "It's a big upgrade with better seating."
She said there are five offices compared to three that they had at the old facility. There is a larger breakroom complete with an "adult-sized" refrigerator, an upgrade from the dorm-sized fridge at the old facility.
The breakroom offers nice windows and lockers for the employees.
There is a conference room at the bank, and the previous location did not have one.
The IT room is climate controlled where in the other facility the door had to be opened to help regulate the temperature.
There are two family-style restrooms and a drinking fountain with the capacity to fill water bottles. Deniz noted that it counts how many plastic bottles are saved when someone fills a re-useable bottle.
The previous facility did not have the capacity for safe deposit boxes but the new facility does and the boxes are locked inside the vault.
There is a privacy room for people to take their boxes to put items in or retrieve items.
The teller line expanded from three to five and the drive-thru expanded from two to three. There is no overhang on the third drive-thru lane to accommodate taller vehicles.
Video screens provide two-way viewing between the member and the teller.
Sunlight Federal Credit Union in Worland has 10 employees.
Deniz noted there was some down time at the bank for the transition to occur in May. The only furniture that moved, however, were computers, with the new bank outfitted with all new furniture.
Outside there is a lot more parking as well available for members and employees.
The old bank will be eventually be sold, Deniz said.
Sunlight Federal Credit Union has locations in Cody, Powell, Worland and Sheridan.
