Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
WORLAND - Washakie County Clerk Mary Grace Strauch announced Wednesday that Commissioner Fred Frandson has withdrawn from the county commissioner race.
In a letter to Strauch and fellow commissioners Terry Wolf and Aaron Anderson, Frandson wrote, "With a heavy heart, I am officially withdrawing my name from the 2022 County Commissioner elections. It has been an extreme honor to serve this community. I am humbled and proud of the work we have accomplished together."
Frandson was appointed to the Washakie County Commissioners on June 30, 2016.
Frandson was elected to a full term in 2018. He is currently serving as chairman.
The withdrawal comes after ballots were printed and after some absentee ballots have been sent out.
Strauch said Secretary of State Republican candidate Dan Dockstader and Dustin and Brittney Bowman 5-1 Precinct Committeeman and Committeewoman, respectively, have also withdrawn from their respective races.
Voters will be notified of the withdrawals.
"All of the notices will be posted on election day and a notice will go out with those ballots that are mailed out as of yesterday," Strauch said.
