Washakie County takes no action on 1/4-cent tax

WORLAND — Citing fears that a new quarter-cent sales tax would “torpedo” other continuing taxes on the ballot this fall in Washakie County, the Washakie County Commission declined to take up a ¼-cent sales tax to help fund the ambulance service.

No commissioners moved to put the issue to a vote during the body’s regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 23.
