Drug overdoses now leading cause of death in US

For decades in the United States, the most frequent cause of accidental death had been a motor vehicle crash. That is no longer the case and, unfortunately, it’s not because cars and drivers are suddenly much safer. No, the top spot has been taken over by drug overdoses, driven largely by opioid drugs.
