Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years

Kathryn Marie Fronk

Kathryn Fronk, 69, passed away at the Washakie Medical Center on April 18, 2023.

Kathryn Marie Strauch was born February 15, 1954 in Worland, Wyoming. She was the fifth of eight children born to Harry and Leila Elizabeth (Propp) Strauch. Following her education, Kathryn married Roger Fronk. Four beautiful children made this family complete: Rhonda, Michael, Clayton, and Melaine.

Kathryn was very close to her sister Chris, they even worked together at their first job at A&W. Later, they both worked for Linton's Big R and then for CO-OP Convenience Store. Kathryn loved interacting with people. She was someone people felt at ease talking with. Early in her life she also found that she had a special bond with animals. Her home became the local "shelter" for animals who needed care and a safe place to stay. Her children were always surprised by the new additions she would add to the menagerie. When Kathryn wasn't working, she enjoyed being outside in nature.

She always seemed to find herself available when someone needed assistance. There was nothing she wouldn't do to help another in need. Kathryn found joy in visiting the ocean, and the few times she did travel, the ocean was a favorite destination.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Henry Strauch; sister, Christine Strauch; and sister-in-law, Janice Strauch.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Fronk of Poulsbo, Washington, Clayton Fronk (Bobbie Jo Grogan) of Charleston, South Carolina; daughters, Rhonda (Breck) Buer of Worland, Melaine (Edward) Spencer; grandchildren, Owen and Emma; brothers: Harry Lee Strauch of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Jack (Judy) Strauch of Worland, William (Mary Grace) Strauch of Worland; sisters: Judith Kline of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Elizabeth (Tom) Johnston of Worland, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services for Kathryn and her sister Christine will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Zion Church with Pastor James Byers officiating. Inurnment will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the New Hope Humane Society and sent to PO Box 524, Worland, WY 82401.
