Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Martha Annette Bingham, born to the late Knute and Emma Olsen on October 17, 1941, passed away on June 7th after experiencing a stroke at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her siblings Bill Anderson, Bertha Lettenga, and Marie Armstrong, daughter-in-law Becca Bingham, and grandchildren Macie and Garrison Bingham.
Martha is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gary Bingham; her siblings Andy Olsen, Doris Herron, and Dorothy Read; children Frank Bingham, Jade Santoro, and Autumn Stone; seven grandchildren, one great grandson, and lots of nieces and nephews.
Martha was born and raised in Ronan, MT, and graduated as valedictorian from Ronan High School. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Montana with a degree in Home Economics. She worked as a Montana extension agent in Miles City, Missoula, and Anaconda.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of World War I (her father served in World War I) and the American Association of University Women. Martha and Gary started attending Grace Lutheran Church when they moved to Worland in 1974.
Martha was a very involved parent when her children were growing up and helped them reach their potential. She had a huge heart and was generous with everyone she met. She was strong, loving, an independent thinker, and valued honesty and integrity. She loved music and dancing (especially the polka), and was always up for a game of Scrabble. She will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to an 11am memorial at Grace Lutheran Church on Friday, June 30th.
