Paula Martinez, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Worland, Wyoming on December 23rd, 2023 after a lengthy illness.
She was born October 11, 1966, in Laredo, Texas to Victoriano G and Elisa A (Ambros) Martinez.
When Paula was a toddler her parents moved to Worland, where her family settled after many years of migrant work in different cities and states.
Paula travelled to many places during high school as a proud gymnast and swimmer, she graduated from Worland High School in 1985.
On May 5th, 1987 Paula welcomed her first son into this world, Antonio Cruz Martinez where her life began as a single but very loving mother. Only a couple of years later she welcomed her second son, Enrique Jose Martinez and her little family was complete.
Paula's life revolved around her boys, she would work numerous jobs to ensure they had all that they needed. They were always surrounded by family and friends who helped a young mother raise her sons.
Paula adored her grandchildren; her son Tony blessed her with four granddaughters and Paula always went out of her way to make those girls feel loved and special.
Paula had very close-knit relationships with her sisters, her brothers, and their children. She was a favorite aunt of many of her nieces and nephews. She was always there for them and would spoil them all equally.
Paula loved to attend family get togethers, although for the last several years of her life she was restricted by her medical condition, she still showed up for all of the big events in everyone 's lives. You could always find her, oxygen tank in tow, on the dance floor or at the casino with her sisters.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents; Victoriano Guajardo Martinez & Elisa Ambros Martinez, her brother-in-law; Luis Alberto Deniz, and her nephew; Luis Deniz Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Antonio Martinez and Enrique Martinez; brothers, Martin (Karen) Martinez, and Jose (Becky) Martinez; sisters, Maria Deniz, Alejandra (Todd) Lattimer, and Margarita Martinez; grandchildren: Espi, Faith, Zariah and Amani; nieces and nephews: Christopher, Krystal, Anthony, Mary, Aiden, Kabre, Elizabeth, Evangelina, Jimmy, Gabriel, Meghann, Alyssa, many great nieces and nephews, along with a numerous amount of extended family and friends.
A rosary will be held 7pm, Friday, January 5, 2024 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:00 AM, Saturday January 6, 2024 with Father Robert Rodgers officiating. A graveside service will follow.
