Deadline Tuesday: Free help available to enroll in the health insurance marketplace

Time is running out to easily apply for affordable health coverage. The health insurance marketplace exists so more people can compare and access quality health plans at more affordable prices. The open enrollment period when most people sign up ends on Jan. 16. A Wyoming nonprofit offers free help to explore marketplace options.

Enroll Wyoming is a grant-funded nonprofit that identifies and explains health insurance resources. Its skilled navigators guide people through programs and applications, empowering them to make informed decisions based on their individual needs. Enroll Wyoming navigators provide free assistance across the state in person, over the phone or virtually. Thanks to grant funding, the nonprofit offers its services without sales incentives or quotas.

Marketplace health plans are required to cover essentials such as prescription drugs, rehabilitative care, preventative care, and hospitalizations. They cannot charge more or deny coverage due to pre-existing conditions. Almost all who sign up for marketplace coverage qualify for cost savings that are not available with private insurance.

If you are uninsured, underinsured, or want to review your options, contact an Enroll Wyoming navigator for a free consultation by visiting enrollwyo.org or calling 211.
