Carrie Ann Wyper, 52, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Ten Sleep on January 9, 2024.
Carrie was born on June 16, 1971 in Arcadia, California to John William and Paula Kay (Burgess) Wyper. She grew up in California, graduating from Nevada Union High School in 1989.
In her youth she enjoyed barrel racing and other rodeo events. She enjoyed watching football, the Los Angeles Rams were her team of choice. Tom introduced her to fishing and camping, which she found an extreme fondness for both. Carrie was a kind soul who loved children and they always seemed to gravitate towards her. She came to Ten Sleep, Wyoming to be a nanny for Thomas Voight's daughter, Sierra. A romance ensued and she married Tom in August of 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Voight of Ten Sleep; stepdaughter, Sierra Voight of Rapid City, South Dakota; brother, John Thomas Wyper of Grass Valley, California; three step-grandchildren and very special friend, Nita "Bama" Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
