Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Donna Lee (Bruce) Moberly, 90, passed away at her home on February 17, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. Donna was born on September 8, 1933, in Cody, Wyoming, the only child born to William Gerald and Alma Mary (Campbell) Bruce. They later adopted Michael James, giving Donna her only brother.
The family moved to Greybull, Wyoming, where she attended school, graduating from Greybull High School in 1951. She married Harry Richard Moberly on September 23, 1950, in Red Lodge, Montana. The couple welcomed five children to the family, James, Robert, Rose "Peggy", Sheri and Gerald. The family moved to Worland where Harry joined Dale McGarvin in business, thus was the beginning of McGarvin & Moberly Construction.
Family and Church were Donna's priority. She was very involved with her children's activities, which were numerous. She somehow found time to be the first woman on the Worland schoolboard and was also acknowledged by the Wyoming Athletic Association for her continued support of sports activities across the state of Wyoming. In 1988 she graduated from NWCC with an Associates of Art and Science degree. This allowed her to become certified as a substitute teacher. She was a very active member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church and a PEO sister. She was very involved in a local book club, Meals on Wheels, and numerous other organizations in Worland. If there was a need, be it financial, or volunteering for a project, she would give generously of her time, talents and resources. In her spare time, she could be found crocheting, quilting, planning the next family gathering (especially the 4th of July), working diligently in her flower gardens or volunteering for the St. Alban's Thrift Store. She was the instigator for the Labyrinth at St. Alban's, which is still a work in progress.
After Harry passed away in 2018, she joined a bowling league. Her first year at state bowling she bowled a score of 173 at the age of 86! She qualified to go to the National Seniors in 2020, but due to Covid-19 that trip was postponed until 2021. She placed third out of eighteen bowlers in the 75 and over category! After suffering a stroke in December of 2021, her main goal was to be able to bowl again. With the help of Mycheal Wiles (PT) John Noland and Chuck Brazell, she bowled every Thursday at Hurricane Lanes. She was always encouraging to her fellow bowlers and enjoyed her "bowling family" immensely.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Richard Moberly; parents, Bill and Alma Bruce; brother, Mike Bruce; son, Gerald David Moberly; and grandson, Asa Moberly.
She leaves behind children: James Bruce Moberly, Robert Wayne Moberly, Rose "Peggy" Moberly, Sheri (Frank) DeCroo; grandchildren: Jason (Brookque) DeCroo, Amanda (Jeremiah) Cannon, Kalea (Matthew) Kulbe, Zachary (Jenny) DeCroo, Hillary Reichwald, Paige (Tysvel) Franklin, Tar Moberly, Bailey Moberly, Alisonna ( Billy) Bohannon, Christopher Moberly; great-grandchildren: Cooper and Parker Cannon, Ash DeCroo, Maven and Scarlett Kulbe, Trey Dye, Brynn and Remy DeCroo, Jace, Janai and TJ Franklin, Colton and Charlotte(Charlie) Bohannon, Gus Reichwald.
