Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years

Milton Jon Schenk

Milton Jon Schenk, 76, passed away at his home in Casper on March 8, 2024.

Milton was born on October 1, 1947, in Worland, Wyoming, to Clifford E. and Jenny Sydney (Hoggsett) Schenk. He joined older brothers, Clifford "Randall" and Dale. Milton grew up in Worland and graduated from Worland High School with the Class of 1966.

After high school, Milton enlisted in the United States Air Force, but due to medical reasons, he was honorably released after six weeks of service. He then began working for Holly Sugar, where he dedicated over two decades of his life, retiring as the Assistant Sugar Warehouse Leader.

Milton had a thirst for knowledge and enrolled in Northwest Community College's online program, taking computer courses to enhance his skills. Although he didn't complete his degree, he gained valuable knowledge.

He was deeply involved in his community and was a Past Master of Cloud Peak No.27 A.M. and F.M. (Ancient Free and Accepted Masons). He took great pride in supporting his daughter Tammy, especially during her time as a member of Job's Daughters. Milton would often don a Santa Claus suit during Christmas to pass out Secret Santa Gifts at the annual Job's Daughters Christmas party. Throughout his life, he volunteered as a foster grandparent in the school system and was the Wyoming State Captain with the COPD Foundation. Everything that Milton was involved in, he did with his whole heart.

Family was everything to Milton, and he cherished his daughter Tammy, always prioritizing her well-being. For many years, he built a successful business selling Avon. Tammy followed in his footsteps, and is still an Avon rep today. He enjoyed hobbies like fishing, walking, and spending time with friends. He also had a creative side, enjoying activities like coloring, sharing stories, and working on word finds.

He is survived by his daughter Tammy Schenk (Lance Baum) of Casper, Wyoming; brothers, Randy (Sonja) Schenk of Pasadena, California and Dale (Florence) Schenk of Glastonbury, Connecticut; nieces, Kathy (David) Rouff of Morgan Hill, California, Erica Schenk of New York; nephew, Austin Schenk of Ohio and many friends from the Pioneer Home.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kayi Pfoze from the United Methodist Church officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics (Washakie County) or the COPD Foundation. Please send checks to PO Box 524 Worland, Wyoming 82401.
