The Washakie County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees set new breakfast and lunch prices. Middle school and high school prices reflect the district not participating in the National School Lunch Program for those two schools.
Free and reduced options are still available.
Prices are as follows:
Breakfast: elementary student, $2.25; middle school student, $2.65; high school student, $3.25; reduced price, $0.30; adult, $3.75.
Lunch: elementary student, $3.25; middle school student, $3.65; high school student, $4.25; reduced price, $0.40 at middle school, $1 at high school; adult, $5.25; additional milk, $0.50
PERSONNEL
The board also handled a number of personnel items at Monday’s board meeting.
The following non-teaching contracts were approved for the 2024-2025 school year: Andee Bilodeau, counselor; Gina Miller, nurse; Heather Rollema, counselor; Rebecca Luhm, counselor; Danielle Warren, counselor; Stacy Kissner, counselor; Anne Bleicher, educational diagnostician; Dina Tassione, school psychologist; Bryce Cornatzer, case manager; Karsyn Cornatzer, case manager; Kelly Schauble, parent liaison; Kim Accurso, special education counselor; L’nette Gilmore, case manager; Michelle Tennyson, social worker/behaviorist; Tim Warren, special education counselor; Elise Washington, speech pathologist assistant.
The following certified staff contracts were approved for the 2024-2025 school year: Brian Edlund, middle school math teacher; Audrey Axtell, middle school CTE teacher; Loren Lauridson, middle school/high school band teacher.
The board accepted the resignation of Blake Mikkola, a first-year band and music teacher at Worland Middle School and Worland High School.
COACHING
The following coaches were approved for winter sports at Worland Middle School for the 2024-2025 season:
Seventh grade girls basketball: head coach David Villa, assistant coach Diana Nehl
Eighth grade girls basketball: head coach position is open, assistant coach Ben Hofmann
Seventh grade boys basketball: head coach Josh Heinemeyer, assistant coach Rylan Mocko
Eighth grade boys basketball: head coach David Villa, assistant coach David Coronado
Wrestling: head coach Josh Garcia, assistant coach Jeff Lang, another open assistant coach position
Swimming: head coach Charity Glanz, assistant coach Heather Aagard, practice coach Alicia Clark
The following coaches were approved for winter sports at Worland High School for the 2024-2025 season:
Boys Basketball: head coach Aaron Abel, assistant coach Wade Wyman, assistant coach James Byers
Girls’ Basketball: head coach Mark Mortimer, assistant coach Rob Woffinden, assistant coach Chris Peterson
Wrestling: head coach Josh Garcia, assistant coach Trevor Hostetter, assistant coach Ryan Utterback
Indoor Track: head coach Shawn Ivie, assistant coach Crystal Redding
Boys Swimming: head coach Justin Howe, assistant coach Danielle Warren

Josh Heinemeyer, Marc Bradshaw and Gabe Keisel were approved as assistant coaches for Worland High School’s football team’s 2024-2025 season.
BUILDING REPORT
Chief Operations Officer Charlie Cauffman reported that construction is ongoing at Worland High School. The framing for the new weight room is currently being installed.
The week of May 6, the front offices at the high school will be torn out and rebuilt. The vault, a solid concrete construction original to the building, located in this area will also be removed.
Rooftop air handler units for South Side and West Side have arrived and wait in storage for the contractor to install them sometime in May.
ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL
During a report from Superintendent Tawn Argeris, he announced that the school district was approved to implement an Alternative School beginning the Fall of 2024. Argeris said that one teacher has already been hired to work at the school, and that a full roster of staff would be hired ahead of the school year.
High School Principal Bruce Miller added that applications for students were being prepared, and would be available to fill out next week.

OTHER BUSINESS
In other business:
•The school board accepted the bid to provide photography services to the school district from Katelynn Lowery.
•The board approved the graduating class of 2024 pending completion of graduation requirements. A group of 83 seniors was approved.
•A John Deere tractor was approved for purchase for $68,449.00 from C&B Equipment. It will be replacing a tractor that has served 15 years in the district.
•A bid for a $105,290.00 anatomy and virtual dissection platform was approved, with Kathy Mercado as the only dissenting vote. She expressed that she’d prefer to explore tablets with similar capabilities as a cheaper alternative.
•The preliminary budget for the fiscal year 2025 was approved
•The April 23 meeting of the Washakie County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees began with recognitions for Worland High School speech and debate students who qualified for the national tournament or who placed at the state level. (Results were previously reported in the Northern Wyoming News.)
