Betty Ann (Aagard) Rickman

With sad hearts we share the news of the passing of Mrs. Betty Ann Rickman in Casper, Wyoming on May 4, 2024. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and teacher who was an avid birdwatcher, gardener, and arrowhead collector.

Betty Ann Aagard was born on September 15, 1929, in Greybull, Wyoming and grew up in nearby Burlington. Betty married Floyd Thomas Rickman on March 8, 1948, and later graduated from the University of Wyoming with her teaching degree. For most of her 30 year teaching career she taught 3rd and 4th grades at Crest Hill and Evansville Elementary in Casper. She impacted hundreds of young lives with her caring words and her ability to foster a love of reading in her young students.

She is survived by her son, David Ray Rickman (Kimberlyrose) of Spokane, WA and her sister, Bonnie Yorgason (James) of Cody Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben Aagard and Agnes Leslie Aagard, and her brother Leslie Aagard. She will be interred next to her late husband, Tom, in Burlington, WY.
