Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Where do you currently reside and how long have you lived in Wyoming?
I currently reside in Laramie, Wyoming and I have lived off and on in Wyoming since my birth in Cheyenne in 1961. The most recent length of residency is 18 years.
Why are you running for Congress?
I decided to run for the U.S. House of Representatives because I saw a lack of true democratic representation and equality in Wyoming. The political landscape here has become dominated by one party, which limits the diversity of voices and perspectives in decision-making. This one-sided approach doesn't reflect the values and needs of all Wyomingites. I am motivated to ensure a more inclusive government that upholds the core values of honesty, hard work, freedom, conservation, and community, and to bring genuine representation to the people of Wyoming.
What are the two most important issues facing our country that you hope to help address if elected?
Two critical issues I will address are:
Reproductive Rights and Bodily Autonomy: I emphasize the importance of upholding the Fourth Amendment, ensuring that "the people have the right to be secure in their persons." This includes defending reproductive rights and the fundamental right to make personal decisions about one's body without interference from the government or extremist groups.
Housing and Sustainable Building Materials: I am committed to addressing the housing crisis by promoting the development of building materials that can endure extreme heat, cold, and be energy self-supporting. This is crucial for creating sustainable and resilient housing in the face of climate change.
Do you feel you are able to work across party lines to find solutions to issues for the betterment of the country?
Yes, I am well-positioned to work across party lines.
My experience, both personal and professional, has prepared me to collaborate with diverse perspectives for the betterment of the country. I've demonstrated an ability to manage complex projects, understand multiple viewpoints, and navigate various challenges-from working with small businesses on non-dilutive funding to advocating for rural healthcare and sustainable development.
Unlike Rep. Hageman, who has aligned herself closely with a single political ideology, I offer a more inclusive approach. My campaign is built on addressing the needs of all Wyomingites-regardless of political affiliation-by focusing on core issues like reproductive rights, job creation, and housing that transcend party lines. My ability to connect with people on a practical level, paired with my belief in true democratic representation, puts me in a better position to seek out bipartisan solutions.
Additionally, my background as a problem-solver in program management, budget administration, and rural healthcare shows that I'm results-oriented, which is essential for fostering cooperation. I've consistently demonstrated that my focus is on improving the lives of everyday citizens, not just advancing a political agenda. This makes me more open to working with anyone willing to find real solutions for the country's challenges. http://www.cameronforwyoming.net
