Karen Elizabeth Bresach

Karen Elizabeth Bresach went home to be with her Jesus in the evening hours of Sunday September 22, 2024 after a hard fought battle with ALS. She passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her beloved husband, her children and a couple members of her chosen family.

On April 20, 1945, Karen was born in Hicksville, Ohio to her parents James and Alice Nance. As a young adult, she proudly served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. At 27, she married Charles Scheidell and his two children. They became a family of five when she had a daughter. Later in life, Karen met and married her soulmate, Bert Bresach. Together they created an undivided, blended family with thirteen children.

Some of Karen's many pastimes were baking, reading and crocheting blankets for her kids and grandkids. She had a passion for plants, flowers and animals. She always took in strays--and not just of the pet varieties. Karen enjoyed working for the state of Wyoming for many years. After her retirement, she loved getting to spend more time with her grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. She enjoyed spending her days at home sitting next to her husband holding hands, listening to his stories and watching football. Not a day would go by when she didn't profess her love for Bert. Over the last twenty years, Mr. B and Lady K have created their own beautiful love story. She loved him so much, she would follow him anywhere, including to the loudest of concerts. He loved her so much that he would watch her action movies without a lot of complaining...mostly.

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and friend to many. Although ALS took a lot from her, she maintained her good spirits and her humor. You would always see her giving the "I love you" sign, a thumbs up and a smile. Her strength throughout this horrible disease was sustained by her faith, her husband's hope, her children's love and the kindness of her cherished friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Sean Bresach; brother in law, Bill Bresach and best friend, Bernedene Robertson.

She will be saving a seat in heaven for the rest of her family including her husband, Bert Bresach; her children, Leigh Scheidell, Charles (Jill) Scheidell, Jamsey Scheidell, Jason Bresach, Tanya Bresach, Samantha Bresach, Chad Bresach, Courtney (Micheal Justin) Blevins, Kat (Carson) Brown, Travis Bresach, Daniel Bresach and Karis (Kris) Bresach; her 29 grandchildren; her 6 great-grandchildren and sister, Angie Dietz.
