Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years

Natalie Rose Shryack

Natalie Rose Shryack passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, at Davis Hospice in Cheyenne, WY. She had been living with a son in Cheyenne for the past year. Having lived a rich, exemplary, and glorious life, her passing came in a dignified, peaceful manner surrounded by loved ones.

Born Natalie Rose Deveraux, on November 18, 1941, in a snowstorm in Basin, WY, to Arthur and Vernice Deveraux, she was received by Dr A.A. Engleman, the same physician who delivered all four of her boys. After graduation from Worland Senior High, Natalie would meet the love of her life, Jerry Shryack, at the community swimming pool in the summer of 1959. After nine months of courtship they were married at the United Methodist Church of Worland on June 12, 1960. Out of this beautiful union came four children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Her first job was at Pan American Petroleum. She was a carrier on various rural mail routes, worked at the Bookshelf, Country Living, Holly Sugar, Washakie County School District, Sky Aviation – to name a few.

Although always a Christian, she was Born Again on April 29, 1970. With this, she saw life from an entirely new perspective. Life was great! Natalie enjoyed being on the worship team, played church piano for years, taught Bible studies, and enjoyed sharing the message of her Savior. She had many friends and acquaintances who knew her as a loyal friend, a woman of integrity, and a person with deep love for her family. Natalie was a member of the garden club, enjoyed hosting tea parties, and participating in garden tours. She loved raising flowers, cooking, canning, was involved in women's ministries, held a seder for garden club, and loved the Jewish faith and people. Over the years, Natalie made two trips to Israel. Her relationship with God was based on His grace, not on her own works. For a couple of years after retirement, Natalie and Jerry relocated for a short season to Windsor, CO, to manage a self-storage unit and were fortunate to attend a wonderful spirit-filled church where they met and worshipped with a multitude of people similarly seeking the Lord's wonder. She was known as a person who was kind and gentle and whose conversations often centered around Jesus' everlasting love.

Her love, Jerry, passed away in 2014. In 2022, she moved to an apartment in Sheridan to be close to family. Those closest to her loved her. She was a woman, wife, mother, and grandmother of character and truthfulness. Natalie always felt blessed by God in so many awesome ways. She saw God do amazing things in women's lives. She knew her Savior in Jesus Christ, eagerly anticipated her walk with the Lord and often spoke of her longing to see Him face to face. Today and forevermore, she is immersed in His glory. Although finally home she will be greatly missed.

Natalie was preceded in death by her father, Authur Deveraux and mother, Vernice Ogg, by her two brothers Richard Deveraux and Norman Deveraux, and by her loving husband Jerry. She is survived by her four children: Michael (Gina) Shryack of Highlands Ranch, CO, M. Douglas (Yvonna) Shryack of Sheridan, WY, Thomas Shryack of Maricopa, AZ, and Kevin Shryack of Cheyenne, WY; her grandchildren Dimitri Shryack, Levi Shryack, Lexi Shryack, Kristen (Jeremy) Anderson, and great-grandson Roland, as well as numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Funeral services will be held October 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church of Worland, Tom Ewing (Windsor, CO) officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Worland. After the services a light meal will be served at the church. Bryant Funeral Home is overseeing funeral services. Natalie requested donations be made to the International Fellowship of Christians & Jews (www.ifcj.org).
