Michael James Drake II

Michael James Drake II passed away on October 27, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones after a brief battle with cancer.

Mike was born on October 10, 1974 to Michael Drake and Shanna (Christensen) Drake in Worland, Wyoming. He was known affectionately to his family as Mikey. He was active in sports at Worland High School, playing football and wrestling and was a member of the graduating class of 1993.

He started his government service at the Worland Post Office and then joined the Army in 1995. While serving he was on 3 tours of active duty in the Iraq War and received 3 Bronze Stars. He retired in 2020 after 25 years of service, as a 1st Sergeant. Following his retirement, he was the superintendent of transportation at Fort Carson, Colorado until his passing.

He leaves his wife of 26 years Susan (Dannhauer) Drake, daughter Lauren (Dylan) Bergmann, son Michael Drake III and son Isaac (Kenzee) Drake. Also surviving him are his parents Mike and Shanna Drake, brother Christopher Drake and his children Carter and Kacie Drake, his sister Leigh Drake (Sid Damon) and their daughters Keala and Kaia Damon, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Worland.
